Gator Emporium

We visited Gator Emporium in Ouray with our children, and it was such a great, welcoming store with kind and helpful staff. They have so many unique products, and we absolutely loved looking around. I found some great pieces to bring home as souvenirs and gifts. This is definitely a must-visit spot if you’re in the Ouray area! Staff also gave us great recommendations for things to do locally.

We had a great experience at Gator Emporium. The service was excellent, and the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. They took the time to answer questions and made the visit enjoyable. The store has a great selection of unique items, and it’s definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area. The kids got alot of fun item and i brought back fun stuff for coworkers

I was visiting ouray a few weeks ago and i had a lovely experience while staying in the beautiful little mountain town. Ever since I got back home I can’t stop thinking about the encounter I had at this little tourist shop. The store itself is actually quite a gem—it’s very different from the usual souvenir shops, and I had a lot of fun looking around at all the unique items. It’s a shame, though, because the service completely ruined the experience. When I went to check out, I dealt with a staff member (I believe his name was Shane) who was incredibly mean and disrespectful. I had a few basic questions about the products, and he responded with a very rude tone, acting like I was "dumb" for even asking. To make matters worse, he smelled like he had been drinking, and he was slurring his words, which felt really unprofessional for a retail environment. It’s a cool space, but I won’t be back if that’s how they treat their customers. two stars for the vibe, zero stars for the service.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!!! The lady who works here is a horrible person and was rude and disrespectful. It was my birthday and she cussed and kicked me out of the store for NOTHING. If you want to have a good trip STAY AWAY. I hope she closes this store and moves far far away from any other people. So that no one else will ever have to deal with her presence again.

the people owning the place looked like they gave up a long time ago. There is zero passion behind it and from how overpriced it is, you can tell they are just in it for the money. I’ve been in here a few times over the past few weeks and there a a man that works there who is always especially rude and unhelpful. It's a shame, because with different ownership this could've been a great little shop.
